Functional Strength

I wanted to take the time out to give God the honor, praise, and Glory for all of the works that he is doing in my life. I’m truly blessed to do the works of my personal Lord and savior Jesus Christ. Let me give everybody a brief overview of why the components personal fitness and health is placed in my heart. I was a chubby kid…I was overweight at the age of 14. I was 215 pounds and I had very bad asthma. Regardless of this, I worked hard and remained physically active. When I stopped playing sports after high school, I gained 70 pounds and went into college fat and out of shape. I called myself continuing my life and playing football at North Park University where I received my Bachelor degree in Exercise Science. Before all of this took place I saw a picture of myself! My before picture that is on my website is what made me realize I was in deep trouble. I could not breathe well in the first place so it continued to grow even worse. I couldn’t enjoy eating my pizza puff and French fires anymore, because I was knocking on 300 pounds and my lungs were full of fat. To make my small testimony short, God healed me and gave me a gift to do great work for him as a Chicago personal trainer providing Chicago fitness tips, athletic nutrition, mental/spiritual support, and fitness training plans for all.

Functional Strength Training: is greatly over looked because we often focus on the other aspect of physical fitness, slim fast or lifting weights all day long, while necessary components of personal fitness are not met. When the equations starts back from building a solid foundation, That foundation starts with a better core, eating the proper foods, getting the correct amount of sleep! I’m not talking just about a six pack; I’m talking about your posterior and frontal alignment of your body! Working the internal organs consistently to make sure you are warming your body from the inside. When I train a client I make sure is his/her core is engaged in the workout. Is his/she working on dynamic joint stability? 

Let’s make working out fun and challenging, but most importantly correct.
